Indian Institute of Technology in Madras – This University is also part of the Indian Institute of Technology system and is located in Madras.  It is comprised of nearly 460 faculty members who teach over 4,500 students.  The school is well regarded as a teaching, research, and industrial consultancy.

There are 15 academic departments which offer programs in aerospace engineering, biotechnology, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, physics, mechanical engineering, and naval architecture.

The school also boasts nearly 100 laboratories and a number of important and prestigious research centers.

  1. Jawaharlal Nehru University – This outstanding place of learning allots 22.5 percent of its total students to be comprised on underprivileged candidates.  In addition overseas students make up nearly 10 percent to result in a diverse and interesting environment.

The school recently established a special center for the study of molecular medicine along with a school of information technology and a center for the study of law.
